Internship Description

 

Part-time/ Temporary Accounting Position

 

Eastern Alloys, Inc., a major producer of zinc alloys since 1965 is currently seeking a Part-time/ Temporary Accounting Intern to join our team in Maybrook, NY.

 

Responsibilities:

Work with the Accounting & Finance Department in most facets of accounting, including, but not limited to the following:

 

    • Order-to-cash process –
      • sales invoice processing,
      • customer account agings,
      • account reconciliation and
      • cash application.

 

    • Procure-to-pay –
      • vendor and supplier invoice processing,
      • vendor / supplier account agings,
      • account reconciliation and
      • payment processing.

 

    • General ledgers –
      • process journal entries,
      • account reconciliation and analysis.

 

    • Inventory –
      • track and analyze inventory,
      • product costing, and
      • reconciliation (shipments, receipts, on-site, off-site).
      • Weekly reporting and costing.

 

  • Assist as a member of a cross-functional ERP implementation team and support project tasks –
    • reconcile data between legacy and newly implemented systems.
    • assist in creating, processing and tracking of supplier and customer orders, inventory, receipts and shipments.
  • run ad-hoc reports from Sales and Production Monitor systems, EKA and NAVISION.
  • compare and reconcile sales, purchases and inventories as between systems.
  • data entry and processing.
    • Preparation of purchase vouchers.

  • Work closely with Shipping, Receiving and Sales departments.
  • Balance and reconcile purchases and sales in ledger & trading book.
  • Filing and other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  •  Enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in accounting.
