Internship Description

Duration: Part-time Spring, Full-time or Part-time Summer

Location: In our Schenectady, Rochester or Tarrytown, NY  office

Status: Hourly Paid

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Intern will assist the HR team with a wide variety of projects and administrative tasks gaining exposure to many areas of HR including; Recruiting, Employee Relations, Learning/Development, Performance, Culture, Benefits, Compensation and HR Systems. Examples of work may include: support of onboarding programs, support of surveys and tracking processes, assisting with maintenance of personnel files, participating on project teams, assisting with an RFP for temp services, support of D&I program, and more. Perform other related duties as assigned  

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education: Some college coursework required. Coursework in Human Resource Management or Business Administration preferred.  

 Minimum Experience: Work experience involving customer interactions with internal and external customers required, preferably in an office setting. Experience working on multiple tasks with overlapping deadlines.  

 Required Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, ability to create moderately complex documents containing tables and graphs, mail merge documents, and print labels and envelopes.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, ability to create and edit moderate complex spreadsheets, sort data, link worksheets, and graphically present data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high quality work with minimal errors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues a must.
